O.W. Williams was judge of Pecos County from 1886–1888 and from 1892–1900.  He held court in Fort Stockton, Texas. 

Fort Stockton is about 80 miles northeast of Marfa and 30 miles southwest of the Pecos River.

Fort Stockton was built in 1859 as part of the system of U.S. Army forts along the trail from San Antonio to El Paso.
